SCORM e-learning
SCORM e-learning that works well in your LMS
Do you already have a Learning Management System and want to have professional e-learning developed? Maxcademy designs, builds, publishes and tests SCORM content for use in your existing learning environment.

Content for your own LMS
You do not need to take on Maxcademy LMS. We can develop e-learning for an existing SCORM-compatible LMS and test the technical functionality within it.
Case study: Vion Food Group
Large-scale training delivered for the existing LMS
For Vion, Maxcademy developed a large volume of digital training around business-critical systems and ESG.
The learning content combined video, interactive software demos, quizzes and other e-learning components. More than 50 training sessions were developed and delivered as SCORM for use in Vion's LMS.
This type of working method suits organisations that have already set up their LMS centrally, but are looking for specialised capacity for Learning Design, production and technical delivery.

More e-learning developed in Articulate Rise
Maxcademy developed e-learning in Articulate Rise for various organisations. Rise content can then be published as SCORM for use in a suitable LMS.
Green Phenix
PlasticWise
Interactive Rise learning for young people with storytelling, video, animation, quizzes and badges.
Upcycle Your Waste
Multilingual academy
Rise training on circular economy in multiple languages, combined with video, animation and quizzes.
The Farmers Academy
Practical training courses
Multiple Rise courses developed with subject matter experts, multimedia and practical learning activities.
Surgimate
Specialist care training
Rise learning for surgical coordinators with scenarios, animation, reflection and interactive processing.
Wyseminds
Business learning
Rise content for a business growth platform, supported with custom illustrations and explainer content.
What is SCORM?
SCORM is a technical standard that allows e-learning content and a Learning Management System to exchange information with each other.
A SCORM course is published as a package and then imported into a SCORM-compatible LMS. Depending on the course, SCORM version, and LMS setup, the LMS can, for example, register whether someone has started or completed the training and what result has been achieved.
SCORM is therefore neither an LMS nor an authoring tool. It is the technical layer that helps to distribute and track e-learning content from, for example, Articulate Rise or Storyline in a learning environment.
E-learning ↔ LMS
The course runs in the LMS and exchanges agreed learning data with the learning environment.
When do you need a SCORM specialist?
Usually not because you want “SCORM”, but because your learning content needs to work reliably with an existing LMS.
You already have an LMS
The learning environment is fixed and new e-learning must technically connect to the existing infrastructure.
A supplier requests a SCORM package
We can develop, publish, and deliver the training in the agreed standard and version.
Completion of score is not coming through correctly
Problems sometimes lie in the publication settings and sometimes in the LMS. Therefore, we test not only the content but also the behaviour after upload.
You want to use the same content in multiple LMSs.
A standardised package makes content more portable, as long as the receiving learning environments properly support the chosen standard.
You want to renew existing SCORM content.
We can redesign existing training content and didactics and then republish for the LMS.
You do not want to be dependent on a single LMS provider.
By developing the content separately from the learning environment, the content remains more transferable when the organisation later changes platforms.
From Learning Design to tested SCORM package.
A technically correct export file is only the last part. First, the e-learning itself must be good.
Learning Design
Designing target audience, learning objectives, structure, interaction, and assessment before the technology.
Authoring
Developing modules in, among others, Articulate Rise or Storyline, depending on the learning objective.
Multimedia & interaction
Integrating video, animation, scenarios, software demos, quizzes, and custom interactions.
Publication settings
Together determining which standard, tracking, and completion logic fits the LMS and the learning needs.
LMS test & QA
Checking whether starting, resuming, completion, and any scores are processed correctly.
Updates & republishing
Adjust content and deliver new packages when the training changes.
SCORM or xAPI? Choose what fits the LMS and the measurement question.
SCORM is widely established for traditional LMS distribution and basic reporting on, for example, progress, completion, and scores.
xAPI can capture richer learning activities and is more flexible outside a classic course structure, but requires a technical environment that can correctly receive and process this data.
Therefore, we do not automatically choose the newest or most comprehensive standard. The right choice depends on your LMS, reporting needs, management, and future plans.
SCORM
Strong choice for many existing LMSs and common course reporting.
xAPI
Interesting when you want to measure richer activities and the infrastructure supports this.
Exporting is not the same as testing
A package can be technically valid and still behave differently in a specific learning environment.
We test where the learner actually uses the training
LMSs differ in configuration, supported standards, reporting, and the way they interpret completion and scores.
Therefore, we ask in advance which environment is being used and which data is important. Where access is available, we test the module directly in the target LMS.
This way we discover technical problems before the training is widely rolled out, instead of when the first hundreds of participants have already started.
You do not need to switch to Maxcademy Learn
Maxcademy provides its own Moodle-based LMS, but content production and LMS choice are separate decisions for us.
Do you already have an LMS that works well? Then we will develop for that. We can work directly in the learning environment or deliver the content as SCORM/xAPI.
Only when there is no suitable learning environment yet, can we offer Maxcademy Learn or think independently about alternatives.
Content and LMS separate from each other
Choose the learning content based on didactic quality and the LMS based on what technically and organisationally suits you.
Frequently asked questions about SCORM e-learning
A SCORM package is a bundle of e-learning files and technical information that allows a SCORM-compatible LMS to import the course, start it, and register agreed learning data.
Not every LMS supports every SCORM version or setting in the same way. Therefore, we check in advance which standard the LMS supports and test where possible in the final learning environment.
There are different versions of the SCORM standard with differences in, among other things, reporting and technical capabilities. The right choice mainly depends on what your LMS supports and what tracking is needed.
Yes. Maxcademy works a lot with Articulate Rise and can publish Rise content as SCORM for use in a suitable LMS.
Yes, when we gain access to a test or management environment. We will then check, among other things, starting, resuming, completion, and any test results based on the agreed settings.
That depends on the available source files and the original authoring tool. With access to the source, a content update is usually much easier than when only the exported package is available.
xAPI can be interesting when you want to track richer learning activities or experiences outside a traditional LMS course. For that, the technical environment must be able to receive and process this data.
No. We can develop SCORM content for your existing LMS. Maxcademy Learn is a separate, optional LMS solution.
Do you have an LMS and are you looking for e-learning that needs to work well in it?
Tell us which LMS you are using, what content is needed and what progress or results you want to record.
We can take care of the complete process: Learning Design, production, SCORM publication, upload, QA and later updates.
